00:00Good morning, welcome to your latest weather update from the Met Office. A bit of a chilly
00:04start for some of us this morning, particularly across Northern Ireland and parts of Scotland.
00:08Maybe some ice in places, but a bit of a cloudier start across much of England and Wales. This
00:12weather front soon arriving from the southwest through the rest of this morning, bringing
00:16some quite heavy rain to parts of Wales and southwest England, spreading northwards into
00:20Northern Ireland, northern parts of England and eastern parts of England too. Scotland
00:24holding on to the dry weather through the rest of this afternoon, perhaps some sunshine
00:27in places, but brisk winds will bring some heavy and blustery showers across parts of
00:32Wales and southwest England. And it will also bring some milder air too, so temperatures
00:36perhaps a little above average for the time of year across the southwest. We could see
00:39temperatures of 10 or 11 degrees across parts of Devon and Cornwall, but generally elsewhere
00:44those temperatures are roundabout average for the time of year. As we go through the
00:48rest of Sunday, those heavy blustery showers continue to feed in across southwestern areas.
00:53That weather front further north continues to push its way northwards into parts of Scotland,
00:57perhaps some sleet and snow over any high ground, but then further rain arrives across
01:01southern parts of England, spreading its way north and eastwards, so we could see some
01:04spray on the roads during Monday morning's rush hour. Heavy blustery showers continue
01:09to feed in across western areas, and with those strong winds, it will be a bit of a
01:13milder night compared to what we saw last night. Temperatures widely in the mid to high
01:16single figures. So, a cloudy, damp and quite windy start to the day for many of us on Monday
01:22morning. Those heavy blustery showers spreading their way northwards, perhaps merging to longer
01:26spells of rain, again across parts of Northern Ireland, northern parts of England, southern
01:30parts of Scotland too, and again we could see some sleet and snow over the hills. Always
01:35staying just a little bit drier across southeastern parts of England, perhaps some sunny spells
01:39here, but still some showers across northern parts of Scotland too. And those brisk southwesterly
01:44winds bringing us those milder temperatures quite widely across the UK, so temperatures
01:48above average for the time of year, 9, 10, perhaps 11 degrees across the south and six
01:52to eight degrees further north, although with those strong winds, perhaps not feeling quite
01:56that mild. Further wet and windy weather is likely through the rest of this week, so
