00:00The mothers in Asuncion, Davao del Norte donated breast milk to the babies in critical condition.

00:15The municipality of Asuncion, Davao del Norte made a colorful example of the donation of breast milk

00:22when they launched a project to donate breast milk to the babies in critical condition in Davao Regional Medical Center.

00:32This project helped the newly born babies who are currently in the intensive care unit of the hospital.

00:40Not long ago, the local government of Asuncion held their first mass human milk letting event.

00:48It was an extension of the collection of breast milk from the mothers who volunteered to give their breast milk to the babies in Neonatal Intensive Unit Care.

00:58Within one day of helping, almost 3,000 millimeters of breast milk were collected from 40 mothers who had a good heart to donate.

01:09According to Ator Minifracio Dayadey Jr., the mayor of Asuncion, the good heart of mothers cannot be paid.

01:17That is why they are thankful for every drop of breast milk donated for the safety of the babies.

01:24This is not a bribe. This is an act of kindness.

01:31I am the one who organized this program.

01:38It is called Bagbalangotayon or Bagbalangkoson.

01:43While this program became a successful example of cooperation,

01:48DRMC encouraged other local governments in the region to do the same to distribute milk to the babies in need.

02:00According to Agnes Catuera, the Program Coordinator of DRMC's Milk Donation Program,

02:06Breast milk should be distributed to the babies who are admitted here in NICU.

02:12They cannot be fed to their mothers.

02:16The mothers who donate are happy because they know that their milk donation will greatly help the babies in need.

02:25Here is Maria, a mother of a healthy and happy baby.

02:30I donated milk because my baby is healthy and it is beneficial for the babies.

02:39At the end of the day, this program not only provides physical sustenance for the babies,

02:45but also strengthens the unity of the community.
