00:00President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. has been involved in various efforts to address the challenges of climate change,

00:07job creation, peace and order, and more.

00:11Let's go back to the activities of the President this week in the writings of Kenneth Paciente.

00:20On Monday, President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. was the first to open the Tesla Center Philippines in Taguig City.

00:27Here, he emphasized the importance of shifting to electric vehicles that can help reduce the effects of climate change.

00:34And the President continued the work of the Philippines on the sustainable development of the country's transport system

00:41by reducing carbon emissions in vehicles.

00:45The President also consulted Secretary Bienvenido Laguesma of the Labor Department

00:49to discuss how the agency will use its funds this year.

00:54On Tuesday, the President and DILG had a dialogue.

00:58There, he ordered the agency to return the funds that were withdrawn from the country's primary programs to the police.

01:04At the same time, the DILG also emphasized the need to strengthen the 9-1-1 capacity

01:09by adding call centers and dispatchers,

01:13along with the purchase of body cameras and pulcation devices of police responders.

01:18Meanwhile, in Pulong, along with the Private Sector Advisory Council, Education and Job Sector Group,

01:24the Chief Executive instructed government agencies and stakeholders

01:28to strengthen the semiconductor and electronics industry.

01:32The President said that the industry must be pushed because of the country's income that can be obtained from it,

01:39which is equivalent to the income obtained by the Philippines in the export of products.

01:44The President also wanted to give incentives to semiconductor locators

01:49or companies operating in the semiconductor industry.

01:53On Thursday, the President received ADB Outgoing President Masatsugu Asakawa

01:58in a farewell call.

02:00Here, the President acknowledged the contributions of the Asian Development Bank

02:04in the development of the country,

02:06especially during the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic,

02:08where he said that without its support, the situation in the Philippines will be difficult.

02:15The President also made the Order of Sigatuna

02:21to further strengthen the partnership between the Philippines and ADB.

02:28where the Philippine Development Report 2024 was discussed.
