Kerrie Hoath, the step-grandmother of four boys who were killed in a fire in a locked house, has said "justice has been done" after their mother, Deveca Rose, was sentenced to 10 years in jail over the deaths. Hoath called the tragedy a "senseless act of negligence". Rose, 30, had left her two sets of twins whilst she went shopping when a fire ripped through their Sutton home on 16 December 2021.

00:00Today marks the end of a three-year ordeal. Bryce and Kyson, Layton and Logan Hope were
00:04cruelly taken from us in a senseless act of negligence by their mother Davika Rose.
00:10This regard she showed towards our boys have been echoed throughout this whole trial
00:14and our family have had to endure three years of lies, delays and false narratives.
00:19This time has been a nightmare and the toll it's taken on our family cannot be overstated.
00:25We've heard speculation that the fire was caused by lights on the Christmas tree,
00:29false claims that the boys were left with a babysitter. We thank the jury for seeing past
00:34that and delivering us a true verdict. Bryce and Kyson, Layton and Logan were left alone by their
00:39mother Davika Rose and she has been found to be responsible for their deaths. Bryce and Kyson,
00:46Layton and Logan were beautiful loving children who did not deserve this. The impact they made
00:51on us in their short lives cannot be measured and will never be forgotten. We miss them every day
00:56and will always hold them in our heart. While there will be better days to come,
01:02the hole that has been left by our children's deaths cannot be filled. Our family would now
01:08like to take some time to heal and let the boys rest. We wish to thank the courts, the members
01:12of the jury and our fabulous police investigation team for the work they have done to ensure that
01:18the boys' story is heard and that they have justice and justice has been done.
