Preparedness still key to dealing with calamities, says lawmaker after Leyte quake
Southern Leyte 2nd District Rep Christopherson Yap emphasizes that preparedness remains the most important consideration in dealing with natural disasters and calamities. 01:08But we have observed in the schools that they're really doing well in their drills, in the
01:15actual situation yesterday, they're doing well, so it's a good example that we're really
01:24implementing our drills, and of course, the community needs to be improved, the people
01:30at home, in our barangay.
01:32Yes, to our constituents, we are doing everything as a national government, and we are coordinating
01:42with the LGUs also, on what we can do, especially the emergency assistance for those who lost
01:50their homes, their livelihoods, those who are injured, we can do emergency assistance.
01:59What assistance can the province provide?
02:03Coming from the district, I'm a congressman, so I already have talked with DSWD Regional
02:11Director Grace Ubong, I already contacted Secretary Gatchalian also, so we will be endorsing,
02:20after our thorough assessment now on the ground, we will be endorsing what we can do.
