00:05Today, Friday, January 24, 2025,

00:09we still expect a weak effect of the Northeast Monsoon or AMIHAN

00:12here in the Northern and Central Luzon.

00:14While here in the Southern Luzon, down to Mindanao,

00:17we still expect the effect of the Easter Leaves or the hot wind from the east.

00:22The encounter of the Northeast Monsoon and the Easter Leaves, also known as the Shear Line,

00:26is not affected today because the Northeast Monsoon is weak.

00:29The cloud cluster or cluster of clouds in the east of Mindanao is noticeable.

00:33So, to our fellowmen there, let's put an umbrella.

00:36That's the effect of the Easter Leaves.

00:38There will be heavy rains for today in a large part of Mindanao.

00:42Today, here in the Luzon, there are still places that will be raining.

00:45Here in Batanes, we expect a dark weather and it will be accompanied by a weak to moderate rain

00:51because of the Northeast Monsoon or the cold AMIHAN.

00:54While here in Catanduanes, we also expect the scattered rain and thunderstorms

00:59with the effect of the Easter Leaves or the hot wind from the east.

01:03In the remaining part of the Northern Luzon, as well as in the Central Luzon,

01:07it will be partly cloudy and most of the time, the sky is sunny

01:10and it will be accompanied by a weak to moderate rain due to the Northeast Monsoon.

01:15While here in Metro Manila, the rest of the Southern Luzon,

01:18we still expect partly cloudy and sometimes cloudy skies.

01:22There is a chance of scattered rain or thunderstorms, especially in the areas of Quezon,

01:27the mountains here in Maronduque, Bicol Region, and Oriental Mindoro.

01:31This is just the tip of the Easter Leaves.

01:34For Metro Manila, the temperature is from 23 to 31 degrees Celsius.

01:38While it is still a bit cold here in the Northern and Central Luzon,

01:41especially in the early hours, for Baguio City, it is at 14 to 24 degrees Celsius.

01:47In Tuguegarao, it is the coldest at 22 degrees Celsius.

01:52For our fellowmen here in Palawan, we still expect partly cloudy skies,

01:56especially in the Central and Southern portions due to the Easter Leaves.

02:00While here in Visayas, it will be mostly cloudy in the Northern and Eastern summer,

02:04scattered rain and thunderstorms, especially in the afternoon and evening due to the Easter Leaves.

02:10Here in Visayas, the rest of Visayas, there is still a chance of partly cloudy skies

02:15or scattered rain or thunderstorms, but most of the day, the sky will be sunny or partly cloudy.

02:20The temperature here in Metro Cebu is from 26 to 31 degrees Celsius.

02:25And for our fellowmen in Mindanao, there are still places where it will rain.

02:30It is still the tip of the Easter Leaves.

02:32We hope that there will be a high chance of rain here in Basilan, Sulu, Tawi-Tawi,

02:36until here in Soksal Djen, almost the entire Davao region and Karaga region.

02:41It will be a gloomy time and there will also be occasional heavy rains and thunderstorms,

02:46so be careful of flooding and landslides.

02:50Here in this part of Mindanao, over Northern Mindanao region,

02:54here in the rest of Bangsamoro region, plus Zamboanga Peninsula,

02:58partly cloudy to cloudy skies in the morning until the afternoon,

03:01but when the afternoon ends until the evening,

03:03the chances of rain and thunderstorms will also be high at the tip of the Easter Leaves.

03:09The temperature here in Zamboanga City and Davao City is still a bit hot,

03:13especially in the afternoon, up to 32 degrees Celsius.

03:17For now, since the Northeast Monsoon is still weak,

03:19we do not have a gale warning that is high.

03:21We still hope that if there are thunderstorms,

03:23it is possible that it will reach two and a half meters above sea level,

03:26but in general, it is possible that it will only reach one meter if the weather conditions are fair.

03:33And for our four-day weather forecast,

03:35starting tomorrow, Saturday, January 25,

03:39the Easter Leaves will still have an effect here in Visayas and Mindanao,

03:43and we still hope for scattered rain and thunderstorms.

03:46Over Caraga, Davao region, Soxalgen, and nearby areas,

03:51make sure that there are still umbrellas and be careful of flood and landslides.

03:56Meanwhile, the Northeast Monsoon is starting to rise again here in a large part of Luzon.

04:02It will only bring light rain,

04:05especially in the eastern section and isolated areas in the rest of Luzon.

04:11Then, Sunday to Tuesday, January 26 to 28,

04:16the shear line will return because the Northeast Monsoon is getting stronger

04:20and it is possible that the gale will reach this part of Visayas.

04:24However, the shear line will bring scattered rain and isolated thunderstorms

04:30over portions of Mindanao, especially Zamboanga Peninsula,

04:34Northern Mindanao, and Caraga region,

04:36as well as portions of eastern and central Visayas.

04:40The shear line is the gale of the Northeast Monsoon and the Easter Leaves.

04:43The Easter Leaves will also have an effect here in Davao region and Soxalgen.

04:48Make sure that there are still umbrellas and landslides,

04:51and stay tuned for updates of the forecast,

04:54especially our advisories or even heavy rainfall warnings.

04:58For the rest of Visayas and a large part of Luzon,

05:01there will be a strong Northeast Monsoon early next week.

05:05It will bring light rain here in Cagayan Valley, Aurora, Quezon, Bicol region,

05:11and nearby areas in Cordillera region,

05:13as well as Rizal, Laguna, and some parts of Mimaropa.

05:17While the rest of the country is experiencing isolated light rains,

05:21it is possible that early next week,

05:23we will have record low temperatures,

05:26especially in the early hours of the day in many areas of Luzon.

05:30Our standardized time is 6.25 a.m. and the sunset is 5.51 p.m.
