With a tech-focused GV70 facelift and the introduction of the Magma sport trim on the horizon, Genesis is poised to elevate its brand presence and continue its trajectory of growth and innovation.

At the LA Auto Show, Claudia Márquez, the newly- appointed Chief Operating Officer of Hyundai Motor America (previously the Chief Operating Officer of Genesis Motor North America), unveiled the highly anticipated facelift for the Genesis GV70 and GV70 EV. In this exclusive interview, Márquez highlights the significant advancements in the second-generation GV70, set to hit the market in spring 2025, emphasizing the luxurious interiors and enhanced performance features that distinguish the new models. Márquez also discusses the brand's rapid growth, noting their expansion from the first standalone dealership in 2020 to an expected 100 by the end of 2025. This strategic growth is aimed at delivering an exceptional customer experience, where every guest is treated as an honored guest, in the brand's Korean tradition.

The Magma concept, a new performance trim that will be available across all Genesis models, will enhance the brand's sporty and performance-oriented image when it comes to market. As Genesis approaches its 10th anniversary in Korea, Márquez underscored the importance of increasing brand awareness in the U.S. market. Auto shows play a crucial role in this strategy, allowing Genesis to reach a broader audience and showcase its innovative offerings.

00:00We're very happy to be here at the LA Auto Show.
00:06We actually made a global reveal of the facelift for the GV70 and GV70 EV.
00:13So it's our second generation.
00:15We introduced in 2021 the first one, which very rapidly became a very important model for our Genesis customers.
00:23We probably will start seeing these new GV70s in the spring of 2025.
00:29One of the things I like the most from Genesis is just the great interiors that you can see,
00:35and this GV70 will offer that even better.
00:38It looks just fantastic.
00:41I started the job three years ago, and back then we were working on these beautiful, exclusive Genesis facilities.
00:50We started having the first one in 2020 in Louisiana.
00:54Today, we are extremely happy, and you can see the difference everywhere.
00:59We have 60 standalone dealers.
01:01By the end of 2025, we should be at 100.
01:06What we try all the time to do is anticipate every need of the customers.
01:10We treat every guest as our honored guest,
01:13and every process, personnel, dealers, plus all the gadgets and things that we have in there are just to deliver that experience.
01:24The Magma concept is the performance side of Genesis,
01:29so it's going to be a different frame that is going to be available in every model.
01:33You will see very clear changes in the body style,
01:36which of course will enhance and put a lot of effort in when it comes to exporting it in performance.
01:42It's a shaper, an enhancement to the brand, not only to have more offerings to our customers,
01:47but it's going to put the Genesis brand in a different level in brand development.
01:54So next year is going to be our 10th anniversary in Korea.
01:58We launch in the U.S. a little bit later.
02:00And the biggest opportunity we have at Genesis is to increase brand awareness.
02:06Auto shows are important even more for us that we get to introduce our brand to a broader audience.
