00:30sensibilities of her peers and especially the president who vowed to veto it upon receipt as our Daniel Manalastas reports.

00:40President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. expressed apprehensions regarding the controversial Senate Bill number

00:471979, otherwise known as the Prevention of Adolescent Pregnancy Act.

00:52The president was shocked about the bill regarding some of its provisions.

01:22And it seems like with this current form, the bill will not get the president's nod.

01:52I'm already guaranteeing, it will not pass. But if this bill is passed in that form, I guarantee all parents, teachers, and children, I will immediately veto it.

02:10seconded and thanked the president for his thoughts about the bill. Villanueva is a well-known critic of Senate Bill

02:171979. Let us also be reminded of the importance of families as stated in our

02:24Constitution, which recognizes the natural and primary right and duty of parents to rear their children.

02:32Senator Risa Ontiveros meanwhile expressed openness to refine the proposed measure.

02:41Teaching kids anatomy, the consequences of early pregnancy, that is also what we support.

02:48I am willing to accept amendments to refine the bill so we can steer it to passage.

02:54Senator Juan Miguel Zubiri said he supports provisions that focus on health care and support for teenage mothers.
