00:00Instead of leaving our exclusive economic zone, another ship of the China Coast Guard
00:06is now floating and staying inside our territory.
00:10The Philippine Coast Guard decided to continue monitoring the so-called ships.
00:15This is what Patrick De Jesus has to say.
00:19The CCG 5901 or also known as the Monster Ship,
00:24but it was replaced by another ship of the China Coast Guard, the CCG 3304.
00:30The so-called CCG ship is still bigger, with a length of more than 100 meters,
00:35compared to the 83-meter BRP Gabrera Silang of the Philippine Coast Guard
00:40that was monitored 60 nautical miles from Zambales.
00:44Even so, the Monster Ship is still staying inside the exclusive economic zone of the Philippines.
00:50This Monday, it was last seen more than 101 nautical miles from Zambales
00:56and closer to Baode Masinlok of 21 nautical miles.
01:00The mere fact that there is still a China Coast Guard that was replaced by a Monster Ship,
01:05this only means that the People's Republic of China blatantly violates international law
01:12and they do not really respect the United Nations Convention of the Law of the Sea.
01:18Through a radio challenge, the Chinese Coast Guard says
01:22that they do not recognize the 2016 Arbitral Award in favor of the Philippines.
01:34This is answered by BRP Gabrera Silang.
01:48You are a party and the 2016 Arbitral Award, you do not possess any legal authority
01:55to patrol inside the Philippines' exclusive economic zone.
01:59You are directed to depart immediately and notify us of your intentions.
02:04Your illegal activity will be reported to higher authorities.
02:18We do not have any intention to fight.
02:21We want a peaceful negotiation to get China out of here.
02:27And by informing them through radio, that's the most peaceful way,
02:34a more peaceful way to tell China that we do not agree with their deployment of the China Coast Guard Vessel here.
02:44The PCG said that it is not only limited to the Monster Ship
02:51and the replacement of the China Coast Guard,
02:55but also to continue monitoring the other parts of the West Philippine Sea.
03:01We still have operations that we do to ensure that we are pretty much aware
03:06of what is happening and the illegal activities of China here in our exclusive economic zone.
03:13Meanwhile, the Philippines and the United States
03:17launched a new Maritime Cooperative Activity in the West Philippine Sea.
03:22This was carried out on January 17 to 18,
03:25the first group sale between the two countries this year.
03:30The assets used by the Philippines are BRP Antonio Luna and BRP Andres Bonifacio,
03:36while two F-A-50 fighter aircraft were also flown as search and rescue assets.
03:42In the United States, the USS Carl Vinson Carrier Strike Group,
03:48USS Princeton, USS Sternet,
03:50and the MH-60 Seahawk Helicopter,
03:54V-22 Helicopter,
03:56and two F-18 Hornet aircraft were flown.
03:58Different activities were carried out in the so-called MCA
04:02that strengthens the bilateral maritime cooperation of the Philippines and the United States.
04:07National Security Advisor Eduardo Año approved the results of the OCTA Research Survey
04:14that 84% of Filipinos support the government's efforts in the West Philippine Sea.
04:21Año said,
04:22In this light of the same smile of each one
04:25who was protected by the sovereignty of the Philippines
04:28and the integrity of our territory,
04:30Patrick de Azuz for Pambansang TV in Bago, Philippines.
