A report titled ‘Planetary Solvency - finding our balance with nature’ says that risks to humanity from climate change have been hugely underestimated in previous studies.

Written by the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries and the University of Exeter, the report considers global GDP and human mortality under scenarios of a warming world using the language of risk management.

Previous reports have underestimated climate risk by failing to take into consideration the rate at which global heating was proceeding, and the impacts of tipping elements that act as reinforcing feedbacks.

The new risk scenarios are dire, with a 50% loss in gross domestic product (GDP) possible between 2070 and 2090 from catastrophic shocks of climate change.

In addition the report finds that as many as 4 billion human deaths could occur due to climate change by 2050 under three degrees of warming.

Vita Sapien Organisation helps people prepare emotionally and spiritually for the future, and to be effective in making things better.

Or primary message is shared through the Vita Worldview pocketbook that can be downloaded for the website.

Vita Sapien believes that a global mass-movement to connect people spiritually and intellectually to our Living Planet is necessary to avert the worst of climate change.

If humanity can survive this century with sufficient intact ecosystems and sufficient enlightened people is possible that we can thrive on Earth deep into the future.

To do that, we need to maintain Planetary Solvency as described in the report.
