00:00This year, WHO is seeking $1.5 billion to support our life-saving work for the emergencies we know about

00:10and to react swiftly to new crises.

00:13Of course, conflicts are not the only emergencies to which WHO is responding around the world.

00:20Last year, we responded to 51 emergencies in 89 countries.

00:26And these are conflicts, outbreaks, climate-related disasters, and more.

00:32These emergencies are no longer isolated or occasional.

00:37They are relentless, overlapping, and intensifying.

00:41In 2025, we estimate that more than 300 million people around the world will require urgent humanitarian assistance.

00:51Amid this escalating need, we're confronted with another challenge, a widening gap in humanitarian funding.

01:00In 2024, global health sector funding met barely 40% of needs.

01:07Without adequate and sustainable funding, we face the impossible task of deciding who will receive care and who will not.

01:17But WHO cannot alone meet the scale of the challenges we face.

01:22We need the global community to step up and match our commitment.
