00:00Thanks for joining us, Talia. You're part of the Warrnambool Morning District women's
00:04cricket rep team. Can you tell us how you got into cricket?
00:07So one of my family friends, Brooke Herbertson, come up to me in about September last year
00:13at the footy finals and said, would you like a game of cricket, a cricker, putting together
00:17a side? And I thought, oh, I may as well. I haven't played sport in seven years, so
00:22that's how I got into it.
00:24And can you tell us about making the rep side? Has that come as a bit of a surprise in just
00:28your second season?
00:29Yeah, massive surprise. I'd played less than 15 games of cricket before I got the phone
00:34call from Jason. I wasn't sure he had the right person, but yeah, somehow I made the
00:40team and yeah, it's been really fun so far.
00:42What are you enjoying about that representative level?
00:45I'm liking that it's intense cricket. The level of play is a lot higher. And yes, great.
00:54And you've been heavily involved with Creek from a netball capacity for a long time and
00:58had a few months off, but back into coaching. Can you tell us about your involvement with
01:02the netball club?
01:03Yes, I've been at the footy club for almost 20 years, so since I was about 13. I've played
01:09umpired coach there for a long time, had the last 12 months off just for a bit of a refresher.
01:15I got roped back into umpiring somehow halfway through the year. But now I'm back coaching
01:20ARES this year.
01:21No worries, all the best of luck with it all.
