00:22The Metro Manila Council approved the request of the Department of Agriculture to put the KADIWA Kiosk, Outlets and KADIWA of Pangulo on Wheels in 150 families in Metro Manila.
00:35Its goal is to reach more Filipinos with cheaper products like fresh vegetables, 29 pesos per kilo of rice and the Rice for All Program.
00:45Our goal is to have access to cheap rice because that is what people are looking for.
00:53We are waiting for the guidelines of the Department of Agriculture to be the right implementation of the program.
01:01For now, there are only two KADIWA stores in Metro Manila.
01:04The DA also announced the sale of 36 pesos of rice by the National Food Authority to Metro Manila LGU next month.
01:12Its target is to reduce the price to 33 pesos by the end of March.
01:16The DA also promised the supplier of cheaper rice.
01:20As of the moment, the NPA has 300,000 tons of stock that will be releasing to the warehouses of the NPA because harvest season.
01:33The National Price Coordinating Council or NPCC approved a resolution requested by the DA to declare a food security emergency for rice due to the high price of rice.
01:44This step will allow the NPA to release the buffer stock of rice to stabilize its price.
01:51The Department of Agriculture Secretary Francisco T. Laurel Jr. and the Department of Trade and Industry Secretary Maria Cristina Roque visited Pasig Mega Market today to evaluate the different prices.
02:03On January 20, the maximum suggested retail price or MSRP for imported rice will be implemented at 58 pesos per kilo.
