00:00Almost 8,000 cattle yarded today which is a record for the facility so that's great.
00:05The yardings I would describe it as very good quality in terms of breeding
00:09and the cattle represent an ideal opportunity to buy cattle that basically are in store and
00:15forward store condition. I would describe them as ideal to buy for backgrounders and fatteners.
00:20They're well bred, a lot of vendors have put a lot of time and effort into weaning them.
00:24The prices basically for the Angus steers were generally speaking from $3.80 a kilogram up to
00:31$4.40, $4.44 so that was you know very solid results. The job isn't ecstatic in that there's
00:40not excessive bidding etc but it's very, I'd describe it as solid and strong results
00:49without setting the world on fire. Fairly widespread buying gallery in terms of northern
00:54competition, a little bit of South Australia, a little bit of Gippsland competition and of course
01:00locally however not large quantities of purchases have been made locally due to basically feed and
01:07in some cases lack or very little water. Some people don't have a lot of water so
01:14I would describe it as very strong steer style.
