00:29The Philippine National Police will start arresting 29 of 30 former police officials

00:33and personnel implicated in the alleged planting of evidence and mishandling of a high-profile

00:38case involving the seizure of more than 900 kilos of shabu worth 6.7 billion pesos in

00:44Tondo, Manila in October 2022.

00:46This comes after the Honorable Gwynne Kalina of RTC Branch 44 of the National Capital Judicial

00:52Region issued a warrant of arrest on the suspects for violation related to the Republic Act

00:579165, Section 92, or bungling in the prosecution.

01:01According to Police Regional Office 3 Director and PNP Spokesperson Police Brigadier General

01:06Gene Fajardo, the PNPS formed a task force to oversee the service of warrants of arrest

01:11against the accused.

01:12What he wants is to completely dismiss the cases of the police who are still active because

01:19of their involvement in this questionable police operation.

01:22Currently, 20 of the accused are all accounted for, with five from the NCRPO, four from Police

01:35Regional Office 1, two from PRO4A, three from PRO4B, one from PRO7, one from CSG, three

01:43from HSS, and one from PIHAW.

01:45The active PNP officials and personnel with warrants of arrest include two lieutenant

01:49colonels, one police major, and two lieutenants.

01:52The police will also track down the nine other former personnel no longer in service, including

01:57two generals.

01:58General Fajardo added that besides the charge under Section 92, the accused also face other

02:03non-bailable cases for planting of evidence.

02:06Of the 30 initially charged, two have been compulsorily retired, one resigned, three

02:10took optional retirement, two dismissed from service, and 22 still in active service.
