00:00Komalek excluded the mock elections that were supposed to be held on Saturday.
00:04The ballots printed by Balota must be destroyed because it does not include the 5 aspirants that were put by the Supreme Court.
00:12Witness, this is Sandra Aguinaldo.
00:17The Commission on Elections did not include the 5 aspirants in the printing of the ballots.
00:23Two of them were declared nuisance candidates while the others were disqualified, rejected the application, or cancelled the Certificate of Candidacy.
00:32But in accordance with the temporary restraining order issued by the Supreme Court, the 5 aspirants must be included in the ballots.
00:39That is why the printing of the ballots in the National Printing Office was suspended.
00:43According to Komalek, 6 million ballots must be destroyed and cannot be used in the upcoming elections.
00:50They wrote to the Commission on Audit to inform them of the destruction and invited them to witness it.
00:56This is the part of the ballots that are worth 6 million that Komalek is saying that they have been printed but cannot be used.
01:06In the printing of the ballots, they spent P150 million.
01:15We will shred it later because someone might use those ballots.
01:20Komalek will abide by the orders of the Supreme Court, but it's not easy and there are activities to be done.
01:27The election management system and our trusted build should be changed.
01:32Even the mock election that should be scheduled, we rescheduled it and made it 25 more or less.
01:42The ballots have not yet been printed for the local candidates, according to Komalek.
01:46The addition of the name of the senatorial aspirant, Mustafa, is more affected now.
01:52The alphabetical order of the name will change the number of aspirants who will be included in the ballots.
02:00Komalek will abide by the orders of the Supreme Court. There are other petitions like this one in the Supreme Court.
02:05If the ballots are printed again and a new directive is issued, it will not put pressure on the Supreme Court with all due respect.
02:13It will be repeated if the position involved is a national position.
02:18We will go back to zero. We will always go back to zero if there will be a temporary restraining order to add a name to our ballots.
02:28If the Supreme Court will wait for all the petitions that will be heard before printing the ballots, they will be terminated in due time, according to Komalek.
02:38With all due respect, we cannot wait because we do not know when the action of our Supreme Court will take place.
02:46We cannot sleep with them because Komalek is an independent body. Of course, we are worried about the independence of the Supreme Court.
02:55It is possible to continue printing the ballots on Monday or Tuesday.
02:59To speed up the process, it is possible to use four printers by the NPO, except for the two that are already being used.
03:05Don't worry about the citizens. The Commission on Elections is guaranteeing that we are in control of the situation.
03:11According to the PNP, 85 people were arrested for violating the election regulations.
03:1722 were arrested at the checkpoint, 10 at the by-bus operations, 30 at the police response operations, and 3 at the service of the search warrant.
