00:00The Commission on Elections is also postponing the printing of ballots for the 2025 elections.

00:07This is in accordance with the temporary restraining order issued by the Supreme Court

00:12for the five candidates who were disqualified and declared nuisances.

00:21The Commission on Elections will temporarily suspend the printing of ballots

00:26for the 2025 national and local elections.

00:29This is after the Supreme Court issued an order

00:32to add the names of the five candidates in the ballot

00:36who were disqualified and declared nuisances.

00:41The Temporary Restraining Order was also issued,

00:44a high sentence against the decision of Comelec.

01:00Of the five names, one of them runs as a senator

01:05and the other four are for the local position.

01:08Among the five names is former Congressman Edgar Erice

01:12as the representative of the 2nd District of Caloocan City.

01:16Erice was questioning Comelec's contract

01:19with the country's automated counting machines provider for the elections.

01:24Comelec promised that they will find a way to include these names in the ballots.

01:29But since the printing of ballots will be suspended,

01:32there will be a slight delay in preparing for the elections.

01:35Comelec said that they will study

01:38if the database of the ballot candidates will need to be changed.

01:43New ballot phases will also be issued

01:45and the printing of millions of ballots will be repeated

01:49which was started on January 6.

01:52Because the printing of ballots is also suspended,

01:55it will be affected and the mock elections scheduled for January 18 will not continue.
