00:00Comelec of Balota stopped printing for the election of 2025.

00:05That's in accordance with the temporary restraining order of the Supreme Court against disqualifying their aspirant.

00:11According to the court, their name should be included in the ballot.

00:22An emergency meeting was called by Comelec Chairman George Erwin Garcia.

00:26This is in accordance with the decision of the Supreme Court that issued a temporary restraining order

00:31against Comelec's decision to disqualify their aspirant or not to declare them a nuisance candidate.

00:38Their disqualification is included in that,

00:41according to former Rep. Edgar Erice in running for the 2nd District of Caloocan.

00:46The TROs prohibits Comelec from disqualifying them.

00:50So this means their names have to be included in the ballot.

00:54So it's up to Comelec how they will implement this.

01:00This is a problem because the names of Erice and four others are no longer printed in the ballots.

01:07Comelec started printing ballots on January 6.

01:11In a statement, Comelec said that in order to comply with the orders of the Supreme Court,

01:16they immediately stopped the printing of official ballots.

01:20The changes to the candidates' database, election management system,

01:25automated counting machine, and consolidated canvassing system must be implemented.

01:29There will also be changes to the 1,667 ballot face templates and their serialization.
