Since his appointment as Wolverhampton Wanderers’ manager on December 19, 2024, Vítor Pereira has made a significant impact. Taking over a team in 19th place with just nine points from 16 matches, Pereira’s tenure so far has been marked by a focus on hard work and daily improvement.

00:00It's not been the least interesting season. Obviously, you've changed your manager already
00:12and lots of different feelings and thoughts from fans. There have been stages where they
00:17were certain that they could be staying up. There's been stages where it looks like they've
00:22been dead and buried. But obviously, the new manager comes in and he makes an initial impact
00:28and a great win away at Leicester City. Recording some clean sheets as well is so important.
00:36It looks like he's certainly shored things up at the back. But how has Vitor come in
00:42and made this initial impact? It's something that possibly the foreign players are taking
00:48a liking to as well. The likes of Jose Sar, Sam Johnson's situation seems to be sorted.
00:54Sar seems to be back with a bit more confidence as well. So, he's clearly having the desired
00:59impact so far.
01:01It probably helps, doesn't it, that he's Portuguese and so many of these players in this Wolves
01:05squad are Portuguese-speaking, whether they be Portuguese themselves or Brazilians. You've
01:09got Spaniards in there as well, Uruguayan and Santibueno, a big South American outlet
01:14at Wolves. So, it's understandable that they've got that backing immediately from the manager.
01:19The relationship's being built up already. Mateus Cunha seemed to love Gary O'Neill
01:23in fairness. They had a good relationship between them, a good bond. But in these early
01:26days, it's been a difficult period for Cunha with his investigation from the FA for the
01:31alleged incident against Ipswich Town. He was then found guilty for that, too much ban.
01:35But the manager, Vitor Pereira, has guided him through that. His man-management skills,
01:40you can't judge them too much because it's early days. But as he's shown throughout his
01:44career in so many different countries, his adaptability is fantastic. And he's showing
01:48that already at Wolves. Of course, the 3-0 defeat to Nottingham Forest, not ideal. But
01:54in that match, Wolves had so many chances. Jorgen Strand-Larsen could have had a hat-trick.
01:59There are other opportunities as well in both halves of that game. And had they been tucked
02:03away, then Wolves potentially could have got a point for all three. It was just one of
02:06those evenings and the 3-0 really flattered Forest. A very Nuno Espirito Santo performance,
02:11you could probably say about that one.
02:13But yeah, I think Vitor has settled in well, as I say, building those relationships initially.
02:17But already a bond with the fan base, which is so, so important.
02:22Just quickly on January, the business is needed to be done. It looks like defence is going
02:28to be a key area where they're looking to improve.
02:31Yep. So, Emmanuel Agbadoo is a centre-back from the French Ligue 1 division. He's coming
02:37in for around £20 million or just under. He should be really important for Wolves actually.
02:43Coming in with lots of physicality, a bit of pace as well, quite a lot of height. That's
02:47something that Gary O'Neill moaned about, was the lack of that. So many set-piece goals
02:50conceded this season. Agbadoo hopefully will be in the Wolves squad for the rest of the
02:55season and should boost them in that department.
