Tajikistan bets on world's tallest dam for hydroelectricity to solve power crisis

Amid chronic power outages, Tajikistan has embarked on the revival of a Soviet-era mega-project to build the world's highest dam. First planned in 1976, the Rogun Hydropower Project was abandoned due to the end of communist rule and then the Tajik civil war.
