A British freelance writer was fined RM700 by the Sepang Magistrate's Court on Tuesday (Jan 14) for trespassing at Terminal 1 of the Kuala Lumpur International Airport.
Magistrate Muhammad Bukhori Md Ruslan meted out the fine on Polak Kendon, 57, who pleaded guilty to the charge.

00:38He was charged under Section 5, Subsection 1 of the Protected Areas and Protected Places
00:43Act, 1959, which provides for a maximum of two years' imprisonment, or a fine of 1,000
00:50ringgit or both, if found guilty.
00:53Prosecutor Muhammad Aidil Akmal Sharidan, representing the accused, requested for a
00:58fine or good behaviour bond for his client.
01:02He said there was a misunderstanding between the airport, auxiliary police and his client,
01:07whom he said frequently visits Malaysia and has no criminal record.
01:11Deputy Public Prosecutor Nur Ain Madihazul Kifli requested a punishment that would serve
01:17as a lesson to the accused.
