01:50And with that, ladies and gentlemen, as we begin, I would like to begin with a Sanskrit
01:54shlok which says, yatha pinde tatha brahmande.
01:58Yatha pinde tatha brahmande translates to, as is the microcosm, so is the macrocosm.
02:04This profound concept from Indian philosophy reminds us of the intricate relationship between
02:10the natural world and human existence.
02:13The Indian Meteorological Department has been instrumental in decoding this relationship,
02:18helping us understand and prepare for the ever-changing dynamics of nature.

03:46mechanism, including early warning systems, that have significantly contributed to disaster
03:52risk reduction.
03:54Your guidance has been instrumental in empowering us to move forward with confidence and determination.

04:07Dr. Jitendra Singh ji.
04:10Your unwavering support and guidance have propelled both IMD and MOS to achieve remarkable
04:19advancements in recent years.

04:28It is worth noting the historical context of both organizations, with IMD established
04:36in 1875 and WMO in 1873.
04:40I extend a warm welcome to all attendees, both present here and joining us online from
04:47various IMD centers, institutions under the Ministry of Arts, Sciences, academia, R&D
04:53institutes, central and state agencies, and various stakeholders.
