00:00Hello viewers, this is Surbhi from ETV Bharat.
00:14Delhi Assembly elections are around the corner and today we will be talking to R P Singh,
00:18member of BJP.
00:19Sir, I want to ask, like, why Delhi, BJP has struggled to win the Delhi Assembly elections
00:25for almost three decades?
00:27Well, we did very well in 2013, we got almost 32 seats, but thereafter, Aam Aadmi Party
00:35forged an alliance with Congress Party and came to power, and then they formed the government
00:39here.
00:40And after that, they could spread the falsehood on the narrative of anti-corruption drive.
00:47They came to power and they used the psychology to win elections.
00:53And then they won elections on the basis of anti-corruption drive, because of the blessing
00:58from Anna Hazare ji.
01:00And people thought Anna Hazare ji is a credible person.
01:02So they voted for Aam Aadmi Party in the next election in 2015, and thereafter, they used
01:09freebie as a tool to win elections, whether it was the water or electricity, although
01:15on ground it was not applicable.
01:18But yes, they could build that narrative of giving up good schools and free water,
01:27free electricity and all that.
01:28And that led to the next election of 2020.
01:32But in last five years, the way they have done corruption, the way they have looted
01:38Delhi, now Delhiites understand that they committed a mistake or they did a mistake,
01:44and now they are not voting for them.
01:47Sir, despite BJP winning all the seven seats in Lok Sabha, still there is a struggle in
01:52winning Delhi Assembly election or the BJP will replicate this success?
01:57This time it's not going to be the same as it happened in 2015 and 2020.
02:05Things have changed on ground.
02:07People have seen through and people can see through how corrupt this Aam Aadmi Party government
02:11is, how corrupt Mr. Kejriwal is, and how he didn't keep his promises, he made only
02:16foul promises on each and every account.
02:19Today, even today, you can't have water on the tap, I mean, the water is filthy, electricity
02:25is still very high in Delhi.
02:26I mean, he also claims that 200 units are free, but who uses 200 units?
02:31People use more than 200 units, the moment it's 201, the bill is raised.
02:36And even bills are raised for yogi classes.
02:38So they are also crying today.
02:40Not only that, the free bus service, I mean, there are no buses on road.
02:44I mean, Delhi needed some 15,000 buses some 10 years back, there are only 7,000 odd buses
02:49in Delhi, out of which 1,900 were provided by Prime Minister Modi, the EV buses.
02:53So people can see through the false promises and the corrupt government as they made money
02:59out of the excise policy which they drafted in Delhi and used that money for elections
03:04in Goa.
03:05And also the way he has splurged money building up his house, the CM's house, where he has
03:13spent some 56 odd crore rupees.
03:15And as per CAG, 33 crore rupees has been spent on that so-called CM house, which is not even
03:21the CM house, I mean, not the properly designated, allocated CM house.
03:25But he wanted to have the best of the facilities and best of the privileges for himself.
03:31And that's why he spent 33 crore rupees of people's money for his personal objectives.
03:37But how BJP is focusing on these issues like health care, public services, free services,
03:42which Aam Aadmi Party is mainly focusing on?
03:44Well, let's talk about what is free today in Delhi.
03:47Is health services free?
03:49No, not at all.
03:50You go to any government hospital, it's pathetic.
03:53Private hospitals charge you exorbitantly.
03:56So we are saying that we'll come and give you 500 rupees health insurance, which Prime
03:59Minister has already implemented in whole of the country except Bengal and Delhi.
04:04So we'll bring that Ayushman Bharat here.
04:06As far as education goes, every year there are more than lakh and a half children which
04:11are dropped out from 11th and 9th, only to improve the result of 10th and 12th.
04:18So what is the future of those children?
04:20So we are saying that we'll give you the best of the education model, which we have implemented
04:25in UP and Gujarat now.
04:26And that will be replicated here.
04:29On bus services, we are saying that we'll ensure that there are better bus services
04:35in the city.
04:36Not that you give them free, free is one part, obviously that will be extended.
04:40But with double the buses which are there on road.
04:43Today there are 7000 odd buses, we'll double it to 15,000 and ensure that every minute
04:49there is a bus service available, every now and then there is a bus service available.
04:53So there is a difference between what they commit, what they fulfil, and what we commit
04:57and how we fulfil.
