00:00There are some who have made it clear to the news that some of the candidates are backing down for the upcoming midterm elections.

00:08Meanwhile, millions of balotas have been printed by Comelec in the past few days.

00:25That's what the Commission on Elections made clear in the middle of the issue of those who withdrew or backed down from running for the national and local elections.

00:43Our Governor, Chavit Singson, has already made it clear to the Commission on Elections that they have not yet received any backup from Singson.

00:52But if Singson really has a plan to withdraw, he should personally go to the Comelec office.

00:59And if this continues, the Commission also made it clear that his name will not be removed from the balota because the printing of the balota started last week.

01:11That's why the name was printed on the balota and therefore we will not be able to remove it for the time being.

01:17But it should be clear to everyone that if a candidate withdraws, he should personally go to the office where his certificate of candidacy has been filed.

01:30Even if he can still get a vote from Singson when he withdraws, the Comelec will consider it a stray vote.

01:37Aside from Singson, another issue that is being discussed now is that the name of the opponent in the congressman of House Speaker Martin Romualdez in the 1st District of Leyte has not yet been removed from the balota.

01:50When the Comelec inquired, the name of Romualdez's opponent was not mentioned because he was not accepted as a registered voter of Leyte.

01:59That's why they automatically confirmed their candidacy.

02:05The candidate mentioned yesterday moved from Paloc, Manila to Tacloban City and this was questioned in the Election Registration Board, and if I'm not mistaken, even in the court, and the court's decision became final and executory.

02:25Because of this, as of now, my status is that there is still no change in the balota that is being imprinted in the National Printing Office and even in the requests of the Temporary Restraining Order in the Supreme Court of the disqualified candidates,

02:40as long as the High Court of Justice does not issue a ruling, there will be no change in the balota.

02:46The latest news from Comelec is that they have already printed millions of balotas since January 6.

02:52The balotas for overseas voting, local absentee voting, BARM parliamentary elections, and test ballots for the mock elections will be completed on Saturday.
