00:00More than 10,000 individuals experiencing involuntary hunger
00:05have been helped by Walang Gutom Kitchen since it was launched last month.
00:11Because of this, the Department of Social Welfare and Development
00:16wanted to expand the program so that more Filipinos can benefit from it.
00:20It is estimated that the first public and private food bank collaboration or soup kitchen was built in Pasay City
00:27where there are 200 private volunteers to maintain the daily operations.
00:33Aside from distributing food, the program also aims to advance the food wastage of the country
00:40by partnering with some restaurants to donate their excess supply.
00:47Meanwhile, the government has decided that the food from Walang Gutom Kitchen
00:52should not be used as food waste.
