The backstory from Ken Nahoum (cesored) "I was hired to photograph Mike Tyson for a Diet Pepsi print ad. He was also filming a multimillion-dollar TV commercial for Pepsi that included hundreds of extras. My job was to photograph him quickly and efficiently to not take up too much of his time away from this extravagant commercial. The set was bustling with clients, ad agency executives, and a large film crew. The pressure was significant.
Word came down that Mike was refusing to be filmed and was ***** at the last second. Filming came to a complete stop. With no resolution in sight, the tension escalated as hours passed. My bosses instructed me not to photograph Mike under any circumstances. No work would resume until the **** was resolved. They even emphasized that if I took a single photograph, I would be immediately terminated. I understood the seriousness of the situation.
Suddenly, Tyson appeared, approached me and said that if I wanted to photograph him at all, I needed to ********. I made a quick decision to proceed. I began taking photographs but noticed he was holding the can incorrectly. I couldn't see the Diet Pepsi label. I calmly asked him to adjust the can so I could capture the label. He began ********** at me to "*********." I reiterated, "But let me turn it," to which he responded, "***********!"
The situation was ********* and *********. The ad agency arrived to find that I had disobeyed their order. I informed them that I had obtained the shot, and to my surprise, they were ecstatic. It seemed as though my actions were the only positive outcome that day. I also managed to capture a few close-up photographs of his face for my own records.
