00:00Whitney Cummings, who is having an interesting reaction to the fires.
00:05We showed you yesterday, she was very distraught about having to evacuate from her podcast,
00:10from her podcast studio, as the fire was advancing.
00:16But last night, she was watching the news and heard from a friend that there, and this
00:22has been going on for a couple of days now, that people believe they've seen arsonists,
00:27that they've seen people all over the city.
00:29This happened, by the way, near us today.
00:32Yes, there's someone who was caught on camera.
00:36So anyway, what happened, this is what you're looking at here, is surveillance video of
00:40citizens taking custody, taking into custody a guy who had a blowtorch in his hand.
00:46And then police came and arrested him.
00:48He was arrested, obviously, on suspicion of arson.
00:51He's now only being held on probation violations.
00:53But Whitney heard this story and maybe even saw that video and decided that she was going
00:59to do something about this, that she and her, I believe it was her husband, went out
01:05around the city searching, hunting for arsonists.
01:10And she documented all of it.
01:12So now that the biggest threat seems to be, in addition to wind, arsonists that are just
01:18lighting fires.
01:20So we're going to go to some places where that could happen.
01:26It's happening at like the base of canyons.
01:28And we're going to drive around, see if we find any.
01:34And what did I grab, babe?
01:37What's the plan if we find one?
01:39Swords.
01:40That's why we got swords.
01:43There's really not much you can do besides kill them.
01:45If that's not an option, then the second best option is come off so crazy that they just
01:52are stunned and just rethink their entire plan.
01:58And if anyone can out crazy an arsonist, who is it, babe?
02:03It's you, babe.
02:05For sure.
02:06Look, I don't know that this vigilantism is is recommended.
02:12I get what she's saying, that, look, you're not you can't kill somebody that's doing that.
02:21But what she's saying is sometimes if somebody acts crazier than the crazy person, that crazy
02:28person might get scared and run and stop them from doing that.
02:32I know that sounds nuts.
02:34That is a high risk gambit.
02:35You better hope that they don't out crazy you in response.
02:38Yeah, because they could just out crazy because they actually are crazier than you.
02:42And then you end up dead.
02:43Well, I get it.
02:44But at the same time, if they're torching neighborhoods, if somebody is torching neighborhoods,
02:50I get it.
02:52And there's something to community watch and going out and finding these people if they
02:55are there.
02:56You walk up and say, sir, you should not.
02:57You do what those citizens did in Woodland Hills in that video that we saw.
03:00But there were a bunch of them that were a bunch of them.
03:02Right.
03:03And then they grabbed the guy and held him to the.
03:04And what if only Whitney is there?
03:06That's why you can't go out in one person.
03:08You've got to go out in the group or break the numbers or you take the wooden sword.
03:11Yeah.
03:12Crazy.
03:13Hello.
03:14This is Malik Taylor from Memphis, Tennessee.
03:15And I thought, although we didn't come as a comedian, comedian, I think she also understands
03:19that this is a very serious situation and it's a lot of people that still have I want
03:22to answer.
03:23I want to question.
03:24So I see her strive and also feel like you see that this is still a serious situation
03:28at the end of the day.
03:29It is serious.
03:30And I think she did take it.
03:31So I know at the end it came off like she's been great.
03:33I got to say, I mean, she's really been working with the horses that have been displaced.
03:38She's been fantastic.
