00:06due to a frozen pitch at the International Stadium. The weather this week on Tyneside
00:12has not been good and is not set to get any better, meaning that the pitch is not suitable
00:18to play on on Saturday. Gateshead were going into the game sat fourth top of the National
00:23League on 47 points, with Braintree just outside of the relegation places on 23 points.
00:31Gateshead were coming into this fixture off the back of being dumped out of the FA Trophy
00:35at the fourth round stage by three goals to one against Boston United. The Heed are holders
00:41of the FA Trophy but now will be unable to defend their title. That game was played away
00:46from the International Stadium despite Gateshead being the home side because of a frozen pitch
00:51once again at the International Stadium. It was instead played at Stockton but on this
00:55occasion this is not possible.
