00:30the LPG gas distributors, brothers and sisters, and friends of the media.
00:36First of all, I would like to thank the association for inviting us to such an event that has never
00:50taken place before.
00:54And if there is any Chief Minister participating in the LPG gas distributors, it is me.
01:07So this is a matter of great honor for us.
01:10You have given us this honor.
01:14I thank the association for this.
01:20And I welcome all of you with a warm welcome.
01:27Today, when we talked about LPG gas cylinders, I remembered my old days.
01:36When we used to do schooling, we used to cook and eat with our own hands.
01:46And at that time, it was not a matter of gas or cylinder.
01:51We used to burn wood.
01:54And where we used to study, especially during rainy days, we used to get such wet wood
02:05that we used to put it in the stove.
02:07We used to put soil oil in it and light a match.
02:11And our eyes used to turn red.
02:15We used to burn wood and cook food.
02:18This is my personal experience.
02:21And this was the condition of the whole country.
02:26I remember when we became MPs from Raigad for the first time in 1999, and Sadhya Tal Bihari
02:37Vajpayee was the Prime Minister of the country at that time.
02:40At that time, Raigad was undivided.
02:43Jaspur had also become a district.
02:46So, the gas agency was in Raigad.
02:50It was not even in Jaspur.
02:52So, I remember very well that as an MP, when we had the authority to take the gas connection,
02:58Shrikant Samawar was sitting here.
03:01His agency is near the Gauri Shankar Temple.
03:04So, we took the gas from him.
03:07And think, for refueling, we had to come 150 km from our house.
03:15So, this was the situation.
03:18And when we were MPs, we had to wait for 2-3 years to take the gas connection.
03:27At that time, MPs used to get a coupon.
03:34In every 3 months, they used to get 25 coupons.
03:37In a year, they used to get 100 coupons.
03:39And in that, they used to get the connection for the out-of-turn gas.
03:49So, the MPs used to get beaten up so much that there are 100 connections.
03:54And there are thousands of workers.
03:56In an administrative area, there are 8-8 committees.
04:00And you can imagine how many workers are there in these 8 committees.
04:04And how many people wanted to get the connection as soon as possible.
04:08So, we used to get abused a lot in that.
04:11I mean, it used to feel like the government should shut it down.
04:16They give us 100 gas coupons.
04:19If they shut it down, we will be happy.
04:23So, we have seen that situation as well.
04:26But very soon, the problem was solved.
04:31As soon as the Prime Minister was there, he solved the problem and removed the coupon system.
04:37And the 1-1.5-2 years that we had to wait for, we didn't have to do it.
04:44It was almost the same with the telephone.
04:46Even for the telephone, we used to wait for 3-4 days.
04:51Otherwise, it used to take 1-1.5 years to get the connection for the telephone.
