00:03Derbyshire Police have launched a murder investigation and appeal for information after the body of a man was found in a flat.
00:10Police were called to report that a man had been found with serious injuries at an address in Whitney Close, Allenton in Derby at 1.45pm yesterday.
00:19The man, who was in his 40s, was pronounced dead at the scene and his family have been made aware.
00:25Two men, both in their 50s and from Derby, were arrested on suspicion of murder yesterday afternoon and remain in police custody this morning.
00:32A scene remains in Whitney Close and police will remain in the area in the coming days.
00:37Detectives want to hear from anyone who has any information that can assist them in their enquiries.
00:42Of particular interest is anyone with information, especially CCTV footage that covers Whitney Close as well as Glossop Street, Crowshaw Street and Abingdon Street between 1.45pm on Thursday January 9th and 11pm on Wednesday January 8th.
01:02A Derbyshire Council is looking to significantly increase its fly-tipping fines in a bid to cover costly clean-ups, with it currently charging the lowest fees in the county.
01:11Derbyshire Dales District Council currently charges fly-tipping offenders £200, which is the lowest fine of all Derbyshire Councils, and is now looking to increase this to £500.
01:22It follows a move from central government to increase the maximum fine for fly-tipping from £400 to £1,000.
01:29Derbyshire Dales District Councillors will debate the proposed changes next week.
