00:00At this point, we will discuss the update on the programs of the current administration here on Mr. President on the Go.
00:22First of all, the initiatives of the administration of Marcos Jr. for strengthening the Philippine labor market resulted in a decrease in the unemployment and underemployment rate in the country in November of last year.
00:35According to the National Economic Development Authority, the labor market continues to grow and employment numbers continue to improve.
00:44The Philippine Statistics Authority or PSA recorded the last decrease in the unemployment rate or the number of unemployed in the country in November of last year.
00:54According to the latest labor force participation survey of the PSA, the unemployment rate decreased by 3.2% in November from 3.9% in October.
01:04The number of employed or those who have a job increased to 96.8% or equivalent to 49.54 million who have a job or have a business.
01:15This is higher than the 96.1% employment rate in October last year and 96.4% in November of 2020.
01:24The number of underemployed also decreased by 10.8%.
01:27According to NEDA Secretary Arsenio M. Balisacan, the next steps are to strengthen businesses and increase job opportunities so that Filipinos can actively contribute to the economy.
01:40Aside from this, we will also look for business upgrading and skills training programs to ensure that these jobs have competitive wages.
01:51Our government remains committed to reaching the employment target under the Philippine Development Plan 2023-2028.
02:00Meanwhile, President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr. warmly welcomed Sofronia Vazquez III, the grand winner of The Voice USA Season 26, in a courtesy call held at the President's Hall in Malacandiang Palace.
02:14The President and First Lady Liza Araneta Marcos were impressed by Sofronia Vazquez III's performance.
02:21Sofronia was the first Filipino and Asian to win The Voice USA.
02:27Sofronia also sang beautifully in the first couple. She sang the song Imagine and her winning song A Million Dreams.
02:35Sofronia also shared how big the support of the Filipino community in America was for her to win the Naturang Patimpala.
