00:00We heard Drill, Baby Drill, his motto.
00:03Are we all surprised that he's going to overturn this decision by Biden?
00:08No, no surprise at all.
00:09That Drill, Baby Drill has become a catchphrase of his.
00:12It came to light during the course of the election,
00:15really that desire to ramp up domestic production of oil and gas
00:20right across the United States.
00:22He says that that is pivotal to US manufacturing, to US jobs,
00:26to really US standing on the world stage,
00:30to become self-reliant on oil and gas production,
00:34to increase that as much as possible.
00:36But complicating those efforts was Joe Biden's announcement,
00:40an executive order on Monday,
00:42which will ban any new offshore drilling for oil and gas,
00:47really covering the vast majority of the US's coastline,
00:51about 625 million acres.
00:55There is a wrinkle in all of this.
00:57Joe Biden has made it very difficult
00:59for the incoming president to overturn this.
01:01He used a Lands Act dating back to the 1950s
01:06and set no end date.
