00:00Just looking at sort of events the last few days, there's been some tragedies at the start of the year there in the United States
00:06and of course there's flags flying at half-mast all over the country,
00:10but how would you assess the overall mood there in the United States right now?
00:14The mood is very good. Every time we have an incoming administration,
00:18there's sort of a little bounce in the American spirit. If you look at the approval ratings of
00:25presidents on their incoming
00:27term, they tend to be highest right after they get sworn in.
00:32There's a large portion of America, probably folks down the middle, who even if you didn't vote for the incoming president of regardless
00:39of what party, you're sort of willing to give him the benefit of the doubt for a short period of time.
00:44There's that honeymoon period for all new presidents. Now whether or not Donald Trump is a new president is sort of open for discussion because
00:51he's been president before, but generally speaking, it's a new year. It's a new administration.
00:56There's a good deal of optimism.
