00:00G'day from the Bureau with your national weather forecast around the country for Wednesday the 8th
00:06of January. Now it's pretty quiet for this time of year but as always there's still some weather
00:10going on. Firstly we've got showers and thunderstorms across southeastern parts of WA
00:15while it's pretty hot and dry for elsewhere. Hot and dry the name of the game through central and
00:20southeastern parts of the country on Wednesday. Showers and thunderstorms continuing though
00:25through parts of New South Wales and Queensland and across our tropical north. Very typical for
00:30this time of year but let's have a closer look around the grounds. Firstly in Queensland we're
00:36looking at very hot conditions across western parts of Queensland with temperatures into the
00:42low 40s. Showers and thunderstorms continuing across our tropical north. Pretty dry though for
00:47central and southern coastal areas but showers and thunderstorms likely through our southern inland
00:51Darling Downs and may even get into southeast Queensland as well. Brisbane possible late
00:56shower and 29 degrees. Then moving down the coast into New South Wales. Pretty similar conditions
01:02with hot sunny weather through western parts of the state. Maybe the chance of a shower or
01:06thunderstorm west of the ranges but the main focus will be rain and thunderstorms across eastern and
01:12northeastern parts of New South Wales. Could see heavy falls though around the mid-north down into
01:17the Hunter and possibly north of Sydney as well so watch out for that. Sydney looking at showers and
01:2224 degrees. Canberra cloudy and 23 as those onshore flow keeps cooler conditions on the east coast.
01:29Then as we move down into Victoria a different story. Warm, hot and sunny for much of the state
01:35on Wednesday with very dry conditions expected. Probably windy about coastal areas but
01:40elsewhere it should be a dry and sunny day. 29 with lots of sunshine in Melbourne. Dry and sunny

01:52of sunshine with just a few clouds here and there. Hobart looking at 24 degrees with lots of sunshine.

02:03across the state. High 30s in the north, low to mid 30s in the south. Adelaide looking at a sunny 32
