00:00Again, this is why the Rooney Rule sucks.
00:02And I think you should have something like that in place,
00:04but it's why it's imperfect is what I should say.
00:06Yeah, I wonder how many times it's worked because one thing
00:07they always point to their life. Because if you're wasting
00:09Pep Hamilton's time, and you're wasting Byron Lefkowitz's
00:12time, that's not fair to those guys. No, it's not. Now
00:14those guys are accepting the interviews, right? There is
00:17that, and one of the things when you've heard people
00:20make the case for the Rooney Rule is like, all right,
00:22well, they're at least getting the experience. You get
00:24your name out there too, which is something. And then
00:26you have like Eric Biennemi who took like 20 interviews
00:28and like never got a job. And then he took a job in
00:30college and got fired after a year. So I don't, yeah,
00:33I don't know. It's certainly not perfect, but would
00:36they be better off not having it at all? I don't know,
00:39probably not. The one they always point to is, but here's
00:42the thing. They have like one example ever where they're
00:44like, oh, the Steelers weren't gonna hire Mike Tomlin.
00:46Then they were blown away by Mike Tomlin. So see, this
00:49works. And you're like, all right, that's one guy in
00:52how many years? Tomlin's been there forever. So what
00:54I would say is you don't even need to satisfy quote
00:57unquote, the Rooney rule to interview real candidates.
01:01Like to me, you should be interviewing Brian Flores
01:03and you should be interviewing Aaron Glenn, right?
01:05You should be talking to those guys. It should be
01:07the top of the list. So like you don't need to satisfy
01:11the Rooney rule. You just need to interview the best
01:12candidates. So I think, look, maybe they have real
01:15interest. And I don't mean to be unfair to Pat
01:17Pamilton or Byron Lefkowitz. Maybe those guys are
01:20real candidates, maybe. But if you're just satisfying
01:22the Rooney rule, this is not the year to do it. There
01:24are real candidates who are deserving of jobs, who
01:27should be highly sought after. That isn't satisfying
01:30anything. Just wait for Flores. Wait for Glenn. Talk
01:33to them. It's a real interview process. It's a real
01:36thing. It's not a sham. Unfortunately, this makes
01:39me think even more strongly that Vrabel's the guy
01:41and this is all a sham process. And they're not
01:43going to talk to real candidates. Yeah. I mean, they're
01:45talking about Johnson. I know. But they're not going
01:47to wait for Glenn. They're not going to wait for,
01:50again, Brian Flores. They're not going to talk to
01:54Liam Cohen and guys like this. Call about Kevin
01:56O'Connell. It makes me fear that they just have
01:59Vrabel in their back pocket and that's it.
