00:00The former contractor of Manila LGU refused the accusation that they did not complete the collection of garbage on the last day of their contract.

00:15Garbage is piled up everywhere in Recto Avenue in Manila.

00:19If the collection of garbage is normal in Manila, it should have been collected this morning.

00:25Garbage is piled up slowly there.

00:31But since yesterday, the garbage truck hasn't passed Recto.

00:35It's even worse in Blumentritt because yesterday, no one was piling up garbage.

00:48After Christmas, we will be pitiful here.

00:50Garbage was piled up on the street because Lionel Waste Management Corporation abandoned the garbage collection on the last day of their contract in Manila.

01:00We are currently validating all these reports sent to us.

01:05On the 31st, which is the last day of Lionel,

01:09they made an initial trash collection but it was not completed.

01:18For example, the collection in the barangay was done twice.

01:22They only did it once more.

01:24That's why on the 1st of January, everyone was surprised that there was a lot of piled up garbage.

01:30Lionel rejected this.

01:32They told their employees to do their job until the last day of their contract.

01:38They also said in their statement that they did not bid for the new contract

01:43because of the huge debt of the city to them, which reached more than P561 million.

01:49Their reason for not bidding for the 2025 contract due to alleged unpaid obligation of P561.4 million is false.

02:02First of all, they did not give that reason when they told the mayor that they will not participate.

02:08The reason that they gave was personal in nature.

02:12Not contractual in nature.

02:15Two contractors replaced Lionel, Metro Waste and Fileco.

02:19We checked with Metro Waste in Muriones, which is chasing the backlog collection.

02:25For today, there are still some areas, but the mayor has already made a pronouncement

02:32that Metro Waste and Fileco should finish the hauling of all backlog collection by Friday.

02:43The city hall assured that there is a system of garbage collection for the translation.

02:49And this will not add to the problem of the city in garbage.
