00:23Angelica, two days before the feast of Jesus Nazareno, devotees continue to come here to the Minor Basilica and National Shrine of Jesus Nazareno in Chiapo, Manila.

00:37You know Angelica, the weather is not always hot and humid.

00:41For our countrymen, they can only enter the Church and listen to the Holy Mass.

00:47Moreover, most of them came from faraway places. Their prayers and wishes are very strong.

00:56Just like MJ, who came from Naia and went straight to the Chiapo Church to attend the Mass.

01:01MJ is from America and has been working there for more than 20 years.

01:06He has been a devotee of Jesus Nazareno for more than two decades.

01:10That's why whenever he goes back to the Philippines, his first destination is the Chiapo Church because he is very thankful to God.

01:19We are thankful that we were able to arrive safely. He gave us everything that we asked for.

01:28His siblings, Sol and Minda, came from Plaridel, Bulacan.

01:34They have been devotees of Jesus Nazareno for more than six decades.

01:38They are also used to attending the Chiapo Church and are thankful for the blessings they receive.

01:44They pray for peace for everyone and good fortune for their families.

01:54I pray that they will be strengthened by the love of Jesus Nazareno.

02:03Angelique, the Mass is being held here in the Chiapo Church from 5am to 9pm.

02:11According to the Manila Police District, 800 devotees attended the Chiapo Church earlier this morning.

02:17Meanwhile, the MPD is on all systems go for the upcoming feast.

02:22The security around the church is also tight.

02:26More than 14,000 police and augmented security personnel will be deployed on the day of the translation.

02:33The forces from the PRO3, PRO4A, Philippine Coast Guard, Bureau of Jail Management and Penology, MMDA and Manila LGU will also be deployed here.

02:43The feast will also be held from tomorrow, January 8 to January 11.

02:48Likewise for the liquor ban, from tomorrow, 9pm to January 10.

02:54Classes are suspended for all those who attend the feast, according to the Malacananga Directive.

02:59Last year, more than 6 million devotees attended the translation.
