00:02Ms. Ecmarge, what are the DOJ's plans for the remaining foreign POGO workers

00:07who were forced to return to their country despite the closure of the POGO hubs here in the Philippines?

00:12Ms. Queng,

00:13Justice Secretary Jesus Crispin Boyang C. Remullia gave great news

00:18to the illegal POGO workers who continue to remain in the Philippines

00:23despite the ultimatum of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.

00:27to leave the country before the end of 2024.

00:30According to the Bureau of Immigration,

00:32more than 11,000 foreign POGO workers were found and deported

00:38because they did not comply with the order to leave or downgrade their visa status last year.

00:44Currently, the BI is conducting manhunt operations against the remaining illegal POGO workers.

00:51The Department of Justice ordered the POGO alien workers to obey the authorities

00:56or face heavy punishment,

00:59including permanent blacklisting and other punishments.

01:03According to Secretary Remullia,

01:04the POGO workers here in the Philippines have lost their jobs

01:07so it is better for them to obey the law and help the authorities.

01:13So, aside from the news,

01:15how is the outreach program for human trafficking awareness

01:19that was conducted in Pasay City?

01:21Asikweng, the outreach program conducted by the Department of Justice in Pasay City

01:27was a success on December 12, 2024.

01:30That activity is to broaden the public's knowledge

01:34on the issues of human trafficking,

01:36especially the online sexual abuse and exploitation of children,

01:39as well as organ trafficking.

01:42It was led by the DOJ Interagency Council Against Trafficking and Associated Agencies

01:47such as DSWD and Exodus Philippines.

01:51There were also sessions and seminars on the dangers of illegal organ trade

01:55and online safety for children.

01:58The agencies also provided various services for the health and safety of the family.

02:04166 people were included in the program and one was there to fight the abuse.

02:13These are important updates from the DOJ

02:16because we still have a lot of POG workers who are still here and don't want to leave.

02:21Yes, they still can't leave, especially those who have families here.

02:26And also, maybe they are still hoping that they can stay here legally.

02:34But nonetheless, the President already has a directive that they should leave here.

02:43they should talk to them about leaving so that they won't be blacklisted

02:49and so that they can come back to settle here.
