00:00Uh Brock Purdy hurt toward the end of that game last night. So
00:04we had uh who is it? Josh Dobbs come in for San Francisco.
00:08Yeah, Purdy is now one and nine against the spread against
00:12teams with a winning record since Christmas of last year
00:15and I remember that game because I thought San Francisco
00:18was gonna win that game against Baltimore and uh didn't you
00:21know, go my way. That particular one Purdy. Yeah,
00:24there've been a lot of injuries around him especially
00:26this year. McCaffrey, Iuke, Debo's been banged up playing
00:31through it. It's it's just been Trent Williams. It's been a
00:33mess obviously. Defensively, it hasn't been great either but
00:36now, nerve issue in his elbow, questionable for the season
00:40finale which to me means Joe, he's not playing. It like why?
00:44Why bother? You're eliminated. You have nothing to play for.
00:47Don't put Purdy. Yeah. So, there you go. So, we get the
00:49update. So, we were came in on the show. So, already. So, he
00:53is done for the season. Week eighteen and and you know,
00:56Adam, the other, you know, again, fun stats here. Fun
00:59nuggets. I got all the nuggets. I came here right for the
01:01drive-thru. I got all the nuggets for you. No team since
01:04the year 2000 save one after losing the Super Bowl let alone
01:08losing the Super Bowl in any dramatic fashion has made it
01:10back to the Super Bowl let alone won the Super Bowl in the
01:13next year. Only one team did it. It's Tom Brady and the
01:15Patriots which means you can crumple it up, throw it away
01:18because it's the anomaly because it's Tom Brady because
01:21Tom Brady does things that are superhuman and nobody else does
01:24but if you think about it, every single year, we sit here
01:27after the Super Bowl and we're going to do it again this year
01:28too. I guarantee it. People did it last year with the Eagles
01:30and I kept telling everybody, don't do this. Everybody was
01:33looking up. Eagles are right there number two on the board.
01:34What a great value. Let's go with the Eagles. Guess what
01:36happened last year? The amount of wear and tear on that team
01:40took its toll. The tough schedule the next year took its
01:42toll. The mental anguish of of losing that game and having to
01:47reinflate that bubble took its toll and what happened this
01:50year? The same thing to the 49ers and who was the top of
01:52the board last year? They have the Super Bowl 49ers and I
01:55don't know why people don't learn this lesson every year.
01:58It's like lighting money on fire and I guarantee you people
02:01are going to do it again this year when we come around in
02:04February in 2025. It's it's a couple hours from now. We're
02:07going to be looking at 2025 day after the Super Bowl. Whoever
02:10loses the Super Bowl, they're going to be the number two team
02:12on the board. You might as well just take that money instead
02:14and put in your kid's college fund because it's not going to
02:16make any money on whoever loses the Super Bowl. It just doesn't
02:19happen the next year and there's a myriad of reasons why
02:23and yet nobody seems to care about this trend. How do you
02:27feel about San Francisco going forward though? Because I mean
02:30look II had II sprinkled a few Super Bowl futures on teams. A
02:35couple are still alive. The Rams, the Packers, but I had a
02:38Niners one as well and that one never realistically had a
02:41chance. It felt like from day one with Christian McCaffrey,
02:44you know, not being ready for the start of the regular season
02:47and then waiting months for him to even see the field.
02:49However, abbreviated goes down in that the crappy weather
02:52conditions and and we don't see him again lost for the year and
02:55like we were joking earlier. I mean screw the whole running
02:57back room. You know, we were down to the fourth string or
03:00Patrick Taylor there for a little while. So how do they
03:04rebound from this and you know where where does Shanahan's
03:06team go? I don't want to be doom and gloom, but I don't
03:10think the bounce back is as easy as what the Eagles had. So
03:13the Eagles had a great couple drafts in the last few years,
03:16right? Especially on defense. They got younger. They got
03:18more athletic. They drafted all these kids from Georgia last
03:20year. They take, you know, Courtney Mitchell and Cooper
03:23Dejean, right? And then all of a sudden like you look, they've
03:25remade the secondary. So Harry Rosen put them in a good
03:27position to bounce back and then you go out there and you
03:29acquire Saquon Barkley, right? Terrific opportunity. You're a
03:31great run off offensive line. You get Saquon Barkley, who
03:35gives you an elite season, how record-breaking season. The
03:38problem is they've made a lot of weird decisions in San Fran,
03:40but paying Brandon Ayuk, I think is going to haunt them because
03:43now this offseason like you basically look and say, well,
03:44I got production from Juwan Jennings. Why do we give Brandon
03:47Ayuk all this money? Christian McCaffrey, we don't know what
03:50this stage. Are we ever going to get him consistently on the
03:52field? There's so many questions, not enough answers,
03:55and now you might.
