00:00Do you think that the tone that has been struck in this interview by Al-Sharaa will actually
00:07make the countries feel more confident in him going forward?
00:12As you said, there could be suspicion about his governance, but it seems to be that he
00:17is striking a somewhat, you know, democratic tone.
00:21He wants to rebuild.
00:22He wants change.
00:23There'll be a lot of scepticism, given his background, where he came from, a member of
00:28Jabhat al-Nusra, he was associated with Al-Qaeda, so there'll be scepticism there.
00:35But whoever his PR firm is, they deserve huge credit because he's saying all the right things.
00:43But I think countries will judge him and his allies by what they do, not necessarily by
00:49what they say.
00:50They're certainly saying all the right things, and we see as a result of that the American
00:56government lifting the bounty on his head, the British government and other governments
01:01engaging with this new government, interim government in Damascus.
01:08And that's all a good sign.
