00:00Washington beating the Falcons 30 to 24 in overtime. There was a lot of things that happened
00:05in this game. Atlanta needed to win to keep, you know, them having the hammer for the NFC South.
00:11They have now lost it. Washington win, clinching a playoff spot. Go to overtime after Atlanta missed
00:17a field goal at the end of regulation. Probably could have got a little closer for that field
00:21goal if they used a few timeouts, but we'll get to that in a moment. Here's the overtime, Joe.
00:25Jaden Daniels sealing a playoff spot and finding Zach Earths for the second time on NBC.
00:33Daniels.
00:39Takes Washington into the playoffs.
00:45Let's look.
00:49The touchdown is confirmed. The game is over. He's got it. Touchdowns.
00:54You've got Washington and the Rams in the playoffs.
00:59So that's right, Joe. So that actually clinched the Rams their spot as well because the Rams
01:05needed like three or four teams to win on Sunday to boost that strength of victory so that it
01:10doesn't matter what Seattle does against the Rams next week. Did you see that that also gave Earths
01:16750K worth of bonuses getting that second touchdown? Yeah. It was a bigger night for
01:23Earths than anyone else. The guy made almost a million bucks with two totties and all those
01:27yards he got. Yeah. It was kind of crazy because it was that game last night was a tale of two
01:33halves. The Falcons team we saw in the first half, Carver, it was, I mean, that was a playoff
01:40caliber team going, oh boy, look out. They made the right move with panics and then they came out
01:45in the second half and I have no idea what that team was that got out gained, I believe, 145 yards
01:54to negative one. You and you gave and you coughed up the lead. So everything they did well in the
02:00first half, they did none of that in the second half. What ultimately is what if they do miss the
02:06playoffs? That second half is where they can point to in that game. And like, well, this is,
02:12this is where we blew the season. So a tale of two halves for me in that one. Right. And, and really
02:18the hard part was, I, I, with you pedics, aside from that P through that awful pick to start the
02:23game, that was a miserable picky throw on the first drive of the game. And, but then Washington
02:28came out, didn't they have like a, they're like almost eight minute drive three and out like
02:33another eight minute drive for Washington three and out. I think they, at one point in the middle
02:39of the fourth quarter, Washington had ran like 30 plays in the second half and Atlanta ran like nine,
02:45you know, they just, they never had the ball until then they finally went in and they tied it up and
02:51went to what they did. Now here's the, the issues at the end of the game, of course, Atlanta's
02:56driving for a field goal to potentially win this thing. When it was tied at 24, they got the rock
03:02back with under a minute to go. And to say that Raheem Morris, Joe was not smart with his time
03:11outs. I guess that would be being nice to dream. I guess that's the one way you could say it.
03:16Here. He is explaining why he wanted to take all his time out to them at the end of the game,
03:21instead of trying to get a little closer. Why did you take the time out after Darnell's catch?
03:27Probably could have, you know, I thought we can get to the line of scrimmage with
03:29our operation, be a little bit faster there, get them there without going on the fast and our ball,
03:32try to save that time out. In hindsight, could have been a good decision or a better decision
03:37to take that time out. But I wanted to have the opportunity to move up there. So like,
03:39you know, always second guess those things. You can always second guess those motives.
03:43You can always go back and look at them, see if you can get it snapped a little bit quicker.
03:45But I really believe we can get our operation time a little bit faster there to be able to
03:48save that time out. Still be able to click off, potentially get the pass interference,
03:52have a couple more snaps there, save the timeouts and better use them there
03:54to get that field a little bit closer.
03:56It was 40 seconds left, Joe, when that play that the gentleman there was asking him about,
04:0240 seconds were left after that catch to Mooney. And they didn't run another play for 17 seconds.
04:08That's about half the time you had left in the game. I'd say, Joe, that a timeout was warranted
04:14in that spot. If you were going to waste off that time, timeout was warranted.
04:18Yeah, timeout was warranted. And you know what else would have been nice?
04:23Raheem Morris, correct me if I'm wrong, he's a defensive guy, isn't he? Yeah, great job by your
04:30defense in the second half in overtime. Very well done, Raheem Morris. So yeah, you obviously
04:37didn't actually miss calling the timeout because you were working on the defense because we saw
04:42how well they performed in overtime. And this is why coaching matters in the NFL,
04:49I'll say it a million times, coaching matters in the NFL. And I'm sorry, Raheem Morris,
04:56not just that you ain't making the cut, neither is your team.
