00:00Uh, you know, Lamar Jackson, honestly, has been every bit as good as Josh Allen.
00:10And I just wonder from your perspective, do you think that the NFL would like allow this
00:14to happen?
00:15Is it like with the voting and popularity contests, et cetera, I know Allen is still
00:19a pretty heavy favorite on the fan dual sports book, but what Lamar has done has just completely
00:25flown under the radar just because I don't think that he's necessarily running as much
00:29over the middle and scoring touchdowns as Josh Allen, Josh Allen, just scoring all
00:33these touchdowns.
00:34So he gets all the highlights, but has Lamar been every bit as good.
00:37Could this come down to the last game or two?
00:41Look, I don't think this is that complicated.
00:46I really don't.
00:47And I've been getting pushed back on social media about this to me.
00:51Not only is Josh Allen, the MVP of the NFL and has been for weeks and is just further
00:56cementing his case week by week.
00:58I'm not convinced that Lamar Jackson's the MVP of his own team.
01:02I mean, where would the Ravens be without Derrick Henry?
01:06Would they still be good?
01:07Would they still be a playoff team?
01:09Sure.
01:10But Buffalo without Josh Allen would be a dumpster fire.
01:14And if you want, as far as the Ravens go, just look back to this most recent game against
01:19the Texans.
01:20Did Lamar have good numbers by the end?
01:21Sure.
01:22Didn't throw for a whole lot.
01:23He had a couple of touchdowns.
01:25Ran well.
01:27100 yards rushing.
01:28Had a touchdown there in part because he had the almost 50-yard run.
01:30But when they jumped out to that, what, 10-0 lead by the end of the opening quarter, it
01:35was largely Derrick Henry who was the trendsetter in that one.
01:39He had 70-plus rushing yards just off the hop in that game.
01:43I think there are multiple facets of this debate that you can look at, OK?
01:47People want to look at Lamar and look at the stats.
01:50This is, again, the pushback that I get on Twitter.
01:52It's all the touchdown-to-interception ratio, the yards, all the ... Sure.
01:58In the aggregate, you can look at it and say, generally speaking, Lamar Jackson has better
02:02numbers than Josh Allen.
02:04However, again, they added a generational running back who is leading the AFC in rushing
02:10yards by a country mile, whereas Josh Allen had to kind of rediscover how his offense
02:17was going to work on the fly.
02:19They got rid of Stephon Diggs.
02:20They lost Gabe Davis.
02:22Those two guys combined for 243 targets last year.
02:26He comes into this year having to play the role of Superman with a not entirely new-look
02:31offense, but at some of the key positions, you forget James Cook and the tight ends.
02:36In terms of the wide receiving core, almost entirely new.
02:39Allen has had to figure that out.
02:41What people don't talk about anymore at all is that the Jets were the team that a lot
02:47of people thought were going to win the AFC East, or the Dolphins.
02:50This was their time to win the AFC East.
02:53People thought the Bills, Craig, were going to regress this year.
02:57Instead, they have run away with what has turned out to be a bad division, injuries,
03:02whatever to blame.
03:03That's fine.
03:04Josh Allen has been stupendous, and the Bills are now making it five straight division crowns,
03:09the earliest team to clinch a division in the NFL a month ago, nearly.
03:14Meanwhile, the Ravens, not only have they not clinched their division yet, they might
03:17not.
03:18The Dolphins might still win the AFC North.
03:22There's a lot of debate, I think, team-to-team between these two cases.
03:27Josh Allen, on top of that, has played through, reportedly anyway, much of this season with
03:32a broken hand.
03:33It was non-throwing hands.
03:35That seems relevant, what he has gutted through.
03:37He's not missed any plays as a result.
03:40The only time that we ever see him off the field is when the blowout is so massive that
03:45he gets, you know, benched toward the end of it because they don't need him anymore.
03:50Lamar's not seen a lot of those situations, and may be the biggest feather in Josh Allen's
03:55cap.
03:56He is the only player, the Bills, the only team to beat both the Chiefs and the Lions
04:02this year.
04:03The rest of the NFL is a combined 1-28 against those two teams.
04:09Josh Allen took them both down.
04:11I just, I don't understand the argument, how people are begging for Lamar Jackson,
04:16who has already won the award, to do so again.
04:19This is Josh Allen's time.
04:20To me, it is not difficult.
