00:00As part of the preparations for the upcoming 2025 National and Local Elections, the Commission on Elections is already conducting training for trainers, technical support, and electoral board for local and overseas voters in the next election.
00:16The sample printing process of balotas that will be used in the training has also been shown.
00:21Theoretical and actual training of new machines to print 73 million balotas will start actual printing on January 6 and the target is to finish it by the second week of April.
00:34What we did is to stand by the machines of the National Printing Office so that if two machines cannot accomplish the number of balotas that we expect on a daily basis, more or less 1.1 million, we can use the machines of the National Printing Office.
00:55Four machines of the National Printing Office are waiting to print two new machines for printing balotas.
01:03The projected printing of balotas will take 77 days.
01:06Three hundred thousand electoral board members are being trained nationwide, but there will be more than a million teachers who will be trained to manage the precincts in the upcoming elections.
01:16The Philippine National Police will also be included in the training.
01:20Our election management system is finished. The law department of COMELEC is currently removing and re-inputting the names that will be placed in the balotas and also removing the names of the candidates who withdrew,
01:34the names of the candidates who canceled the candidacy because they were declared canceled or declared nuisance candidates.
01:45There are also substitutions because of debt.
01:48COMELEC is also considering substitutions for the candidates because of incapacity or being brain-dead.
01:54One hundred and seventy nuisance candidates have already been resolved by COMELEC.
01:58Today, the decision is expected to be released to those who are accepted by the Commission on Elections for the motion for reconsideration
02:06so that it will be clear who will be included in the local and national elections when the printing arrives on January 6.
02:13Senator, it was already resolved last week. So the list is clear. There are only 66 candidates in the Senate.
02:21Our guidelines for a safe space, for a proper campaign and for a respectful campaign,
02:28including the issue of accusations against a person, a group or what, will be released. We will discuss it with finality on January 4 so that we can promulgate those guidelines.
02:47To the observers and training and ethical testing of the machines, the Parish Pastoral Council for Responsible Voting,
02:54National Citizens Movement for Free Elections, Legal Network for Truthful Elections, and Participate PH.
03:02Vel Custodio for Pambansang TV in Bagong, Philippines.
