00:21PITX is preparing for the new year.

00:27According to PITX, up to 1.8 million passengers are expected to return to the provinces for the celebration of the New Year.

00:37This is higher than the 1.2 million passengers who returned from December 20 to 25 for Christmas.

00:44The places they are going to return to are Bicol, Mindoro, and Baguio.

00:49The usual advance booking is for Bicol region.

00:55However, we still have a lot of available trips.

00:58The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority, MMDA, also deployed people to help with the traffic.

01:04Now, clearing operations are also underway to speed up the passage of passengers.

01:09MMDA is particularly monitoring the places around bus terminals in PITX, Paranaque, and Cubao, Quezon City.

01:16We're looking at around this Friday, right?

01:19Because our holidays are short.

01:21Our expected volume or traffic will be this coming weekend.

01:26Even though the North Luzon Expressway or NLEX is also preparing, motorists are expected to travel from tomorrow to Saturday, along with the long weekend.

01:34We're expecting to travel at around 10% volume for the day, our daily average volume.

01:45Motorists are being told to go to the terminals early.

01:48It is also advisable if the vehicle is in good condition, especially private motorists, to avoid getting caught in the traffic.
