00:00The Transportation Department is pushing for the modernization of transportation

00:05through electronic buses.

00:07This is to encourage bus companies to move from diesel fuel to electric buses.

00:18The Department of Transportation is thinking of a program that can help bus companies

00:23that want to move to electric buses from the traditional way of running diesel.

00:27This is part of the goal of making public transportation more modern, more environmental-friendly, and more affordable.

00:34One of the government's actions is to give low tariffs and incentives to manufacturers.

00:40Coordination is also taking place to give more attention to the need for more charging stations.

00:46This is also the possibility of having a locally made electric bus in the country.

00:50We will move to low-emission carbon vehicles.

00:53And definitely, on the part of the government, we really have to look at ways and means for us to help them,

01:02At the same time, a bus company launched its first electric bus.

01:06It will serve from Cubao, Quezon City to San Fernando, Pampanga, and vice versa starting in December.

01:53to reduce the number of accidents caused by road accidents by 35% by the end of 2028.

02:06driver education, and safety training for pedestrians.
