00:00Welcome to Mojo Plays, and today we're counting down our picks for the worst fighters from
00:11Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.
00:17To be clear, we're not saying these characters are inherently bad, they're just more difficult.
00:28Before we get started, we post new videos all week long, so be sure to subscribe to
00:32Mojo Plays and ring that bell to be notified about our latest videos.
00:37Pichu Being Pikachu's pre-evolved form, Pichu has
00:45long been a difficult character to use successfully in Smash Bros. While essentially a clone
00:50of its larger cousin, Pichu has several major downsides. It's the lightest character in
00:55the game, which makes launching it off the stage incredibly easy. Pichu also takes damage
01:00from its own moves that use electricity, which only makes you likely to get KO'd that much
01:05faster. While its speed and combo potential are great, Pichu remains a risky choice since
01:10you're forced to play aggressively to prevent getting injured too much, and most of the
01:14time, you'll just end up yelling at the screen, stop hitting yourself!
01:26Simon The Belmont Clan may be skilled at hunting
01:33vampires, but Simon as well as his Echo Fighter, Richter, aren't so great in Smash Bros. Simon
01:39is fantastic at keeping his opponents at bay with a multitude of long-range attacks. However,
01:44the flip side of that coin is that his close-range game is weaker, and he often struggles to
01:48escape combos. Simon's recovery options aren't the best either, as his uppercut has good
01:53vertical, but poor horizontal movement. Simon may be packed with holy water, but winning
01:58with him often requires a minor miracle or a very skilled player.
02:10Olimar This Pikmin star can be a difficult read for
02:17his opponents. Using his little Pikmin, you can stack damage passively while also camping
02:22from a distance. However, while it's tough for your foes to keep track of your Pikmin,
02:27it's often hard for players to keep track of them themselves. Olimar is a very technical
02:32character which makes the learning curve for getting good with him significantly higher
02:36than most other fighters. This, plus his small size and light weight help make Olimar
02:41an unpopular character to play. By the time you've figured him out, you'll probably
02:45have been KO'd.
02:53Mii Sword Fighter The Mii fighters in general can be pretty
03:00hit-or-miss characters thanks to their customizable movesets, but our pick for the worst goes
03:05to the Sword Fighter. Despite some good ranged specials and arguably the best recovery moves
03:10among the Miis, Sword Fighter has some fatal flaws. Namely, their smash moves are kind
03:15of laggy and other sword users outclass them with range and power. Additionally, despite
03:20access to some decent specials, many of them are just inferior versions of other characters'
03:26moves. Although a skilled duelist can wield the Mii Sword Fighter well, novices will probably
03:31be more likely to achieve victory by choosing someone else.
03:40Min Min Now, to be fair, Min Min is actually a rather
03:47good character to play. Not as good as she used to be, sure, now that she's been nerfed
03:51a lot, but some so-so recovery and trouble-breaking combos aside, not terrible. Why is she here
03:57again? Well, because much like Meta Knight in Brawl, Min Min is so annoying to fight
04:02against. Her long arms can hit you from across the stage, which forces players into playing
04:07around her instead of against her. The game becomes less fun to play when you're fighting
04:11Min Min, and that qualifies her for being among the worst in our book.
04:22Wii Fit Trainer Being unique can sometimes be a detriment.
04:29No other fighter moves quite like Wii Fit Trainer. This helps make them one of the most
04:33difficult characters to learn. Although they have some strong smashes and decent range,
04:38Wii Fit is one of the floatiest characters in the game despite their weak class. That
04:42slow air speed makes them a target in mid-air and easy to send flying. While Wii Fit is
04:47admittedly better in Smash Ultimate, you'd probably be better off saluting the sun on
04:52your own time than using them in a match.
05:00King Dedede Heavy characters tend to be really bad in
05:06fighting games, and King Dedede is no exception. Although his recovery options are better than
05:12most Wii Fit characters, there's no denying that Kirby's nemesis is just too slow. His
05:16projectile move, the Gordo Throw, can also be reflected back at him by most attacks.
05:21Dedede can take a lot of punishment, but when other fighters are comboing you repeatedly
05:26before you can hit back, that's not much of an advantage. The gluttonous troll of a penguin
05:30monarch can swing big, but he misses too often to be called good.
05:40King K. Rool From one fit king to another, King K. Rool
05:47does have some advantages compared to other heavyweights, such as his counter ability,
05:52super armor on his belly, as well as decent range and recovery options. However, K. Rool
05:57also has one of the biggest hitboxes in the game, making him a huge target. What's worse
06:02is the lag on many of his moves, which leaves the big croc open to being counterattacked
06:07if he misses. A king he may be, but K. Rool is usually ruled over by most other fighters.
06:19Little Mac He may be a champ in the ring, but he's not
06:25fighting Glass Joe anymore. Admittedly, Little Mac has great running speed and his punches
06:30on the ground are incredibly fast and hard hitting as well. However, when it comes to
06:34anything off the ground, Little Mac is pretty terrible. His aerial attacks are poor, and
06:39if he's knocked off the stage, you may as well just give up, because he's probably not
06:44going to make it back. While that's a non-issue on some stages, in competitive play, Little
06:48Mac too often fails to punch above his weight.
06:56Ganondorf According to most metrics and tier lists you'll
07:03find, Ganondorf is the worst character to play in Smash Bros. Ultimate. Link's arch
07:07enemy hits incredibly hard, with some of his attacks doing some of the most damage in the
07:12game. However, not only is Ganondorf slow, he also struggles to put together combos.
07:17His recovery from getting knocked off stages is poor, as is his range of his attacks. Ultimate
07:22is a fast-paced game, and Ganondorf is stuck in the slow lane, with every other character
07:27leaving him in the dust.
