00:00So if you could start by introducing yourselves. Any order is fine.
00:05You take it away.
00:06Alright, Barry please.
00:08Lovely to meet you.
00:10Ellie, nice to meet you as well.
00:12Nice to meet you.
00:14Yeah, you too Barry.
00:16Okay, so what about your names please?
00:20I'm Dennis.
00:22I'm Ellie.
00:24And I'm Barry Bannon.
00:26And what is the campaign that you're raising awareness for?
00:30It's the Every Minute Matters campaign with Skybet and the British Heart Foundation to raise awareness of the importance of starting CPR.
00:38And so there was obviously the moment where your dad unfortunately collapsed and you performed CPR. Do you want to talk a little bit about that and why it sparked your interest in this campaign?
00:47Yeah, so I'd just got home from work. Normally we'd have been using our season ticket.
00:53But I didn't finish work until half past seven and it was a night game on a Friday night playing Southampton in the first match of the season last year.
01:01The second half had just kicked off and dad just collapsed in his chair.
01:06He just glopped over, he just weren't breathing, completely unresponsive. Recognised that it was cardiac arrest so I dragged him onto the floor, shouted to my mum to ring 999 and started chest compressions.
01:18And how did you recognise that he needed CPR?
01:22He immediately went cold, clammy, completely unresponsive.
01:28Initially I watched it match actually.
01:33Mum just shouted, Dennis, Dennis. So I looked at side and he just slumped down into his chair. He was completely unresponsive.
01:40I had a quick check to try and find a pulse, couldn't find one.
01:44I don't know if I was checking properly anyway. He was there in the heat of the moment but I just recognised he was completely unresponsive so I dragged him straight onto the floor.
01:51And why is it so important that other people learn CPR?
01:54Because most of the time it is going to be family and friends that are the ones that are there to do the CPR.
02:01Most cardiac arrests happen in your house so you're going to be the only one that's there to save your own family and friends.
02:09And if people wanted to learn CPR how would they do this?
02:14The Richardshire Foundation and Skybet have launched the ReviveRap which takes about 15 minutes.
02:19You just need a pillow. Just do it in the comfort of your own home and learn it so that next time you're not the one that saves the day.
02:26And why is it important that Sheffield 1C fans back this campaign?
02:29I'll tell you. Because like Ellie's been talking about it might not be at the stadium.
02:37But the likelihood is it's for your own family members as in this case here.
02:41So I think it's a powerful thing to have and be able to do because it could be your kids, your mum or your dad.
02:49It could be anywhere really. It's just 15 minutes like you said on that website and you've got a powerful tool.
02:55It could nick it and save people's lives so 15 minutes of your time is not a great deal of time.
03:00So I think it's definitely something that people should do over this Christmas period when they've got time off work is go on the website and learn it.
03:08And is there a goal of how many people you want to learn CPR?
03:11I think at the minute between the both they've got 100,000 people that have learned it and I think they're trying to target 270,000.
03:21So like you said this is a perfect time now with people being off work and stuff.
03:25They've got lots of time to be able to go on there and get it done.
03:30And is it easy to learn?
03:32Yeah well I learned it. It was part of my contract when I was asking for it when I was a young kid.
03:39Through the PFA you had to do it so people would come into the clubs with dolls and stuff and you would do it all there at your club.
03:49So I've learned it years and years ago but yeah it's easy to learn.
03:54You've just got to go on the website like Kelly said. You don't have to go anywhere.
03:58You just have to do it there and come through your door.
04:01So it's definitely easy to do yeah.
04:03Yeah that's right.
04:05It's a little bit hard to do it.
04:06Yeah.
04:07An hour or so and I'll be at the front row.
04:09And it says it here.
04:11So it's something that anybody can learn?
04:13Oh yes. It's not hard. It's just the time.
04:16Yeah.
04:17It's a quarter of an hour.
04:19Look at me. A quarter of an hour doing it.
04:23Yeah. Brilliant.
04:24Is there anything else that you wanted to add about the campaign?
04:31I think just for all the Sheffield Wednesday fans watching.
04:35This is an amazing story that connects to our club really.
04:40Paul's our captain. We mentioned him again last season.
04:43So for everyone that's watching from Sheffield Wednesday because it'll go out to our fans and stuff.
04:48Just to reiterate the fact that it's 15 minutes of your time.
04:52So if you can do it, it'd be great.
04:55Especially with the time of Christmas.
04:58And who knows. You might never have to use it hopefully not.
05:02But at least you know that if you do, you're well capable of doing it.
05:06Yeah. Thank you.
