00:00My name is Max, and I'm a ghost tour guide of Prague.
00:08I've been living in this city my entire life,
00:11and today I would like to show you some of the
00:15horrible stories that have been living in this city
00:18for the past centuries.
00:20Here we are on Charles Square,
00:29and behind me is the Faust House,
00:32practically a medieval building.
00:34This house in Prague is known for its association
00:38with the devil and with the legend of the Faust.
00:42Different people throughout centuries have had
00:46that magical slash scholarly connection to this building.
00:51In particular, Jozef Grebiner,
00:54who was obsessed with morbid themes
00:57and had a collection of skulls and taxidermies.
01:07We still have the medieval ramparts preserved,
01:10and the street that is running just below them
01:13has a bad reputation.
01:16Many soldiers who patrolled here across the centuries
01:20have disappeared, and there are many different stories
01:24about how it happened.
01:26Some mention a silvery specter that is strangling people,
01:30and there are even stories of murder.
01:36Here we are at the St. Henry's Church.
01:38That church still has a cemetery around it,
01:41which maybe is the reason why this old Prague legend
01:44keeps on being vivid until today.
01:47A locksmith used to live in this parish.
01:50He had a young wife and a disciple,
01:52and they were cheating behind his back.
01:54And this wife eventually decided to murder her locksmith husband.
01:58She hammered a nail into his skull and married the disciple,
02:02but that locksmith never found his peace.
02:06These were three stories I would love to show you
02:10and tell you more.
