00:00Next, goal scorer for tonight.
00:02We'll play one goal scorer each week on NHL Today.
00:04And this week, it will be Patrick Laine.
00:07Why?
00:08Since he's shown up in Montreal, he has been very hot.
00:11Six goals in his first seven games with them,
00:13including the hat trick the other night,
00:15plus 220 for him to score against Detroit.
00:18That is where we are going to go with our boy Laine.
00:21Next, aside for tonight, Washington Capitals.
00:24I told you, this is probably one of the best games
00:25of the night, Caps and the Canes in D.C.
00:28I gave you a few numbers earlier.
00:30I'll give them to you again.
00:31Beat the Canes at home in November.
00:33Coming off a poor road trip.
00:34You know, they lost in Dallas and Chicago.
00:36Blackhawks think that's a bad loss for the Caps.
00:39But now they go.
00:40They've been very good at home.
00:41And Carolina, they're a mediocre road team.
00:43Seven, six, and one, I think, Caps tonight.
00:47And you're getting them at a nice price.
00:48Plus 122 I've got there.
00:50I've seen it get as high as plus 130, 135 as well
00:53here today.
00:54So we'll take the Capitals at home
00:56against the Carolina Hurricanes.
00:59Number four, total for tonight.
01:02Pretty good, laid it out.
01:04Toronto and Buffalo.
01:05Goals, goals, goals.
01:07Let's fill the net out there
01:09as they have gone six, two, and two to the over
01:12their last 10 times together.
01:14And Buffalo, go look at the scores of some of these games.
01:17Losing six, five in overtime.
01:19Losing seven, two.
01:20Losing five.
01:21They're giving up tons of goals.
01:24And Toronto's the type of team
01:27that will absolutely make you pay in those spots.
01:28So we'll take the over six and a half
01:30with the Leafs and the Sabres here this evening.
01:32And our future for the Final Five this week.
01:36Dave brought it up.
01:37You know, he kinda, you know,
01:38he didn't know I was gonna do this.
01:40And it kinda got in my way a little bit here,
01:42but the Minnesota Wild are a team
01:44that I am going to add to the portfolio this week
01:47to win the Western Conference.
01:50Western Conference for Minnesota, nine to one right now.
01:53They're second in the Central.
01:54They're third in the West.
01:56You go and look at the Odds Board.
01:57They are sixth on the Western Conference
02:00Odds Board right now.
02:01And some of these teams that are ahead of them,
02:03I'm sorry, but they're better than.
02:05You take a look.
02:06Now Edmonton, Dallas, Colorado, Winnipeg, and Vegas
02:08are all ahead of Minnesota.
02:10Dave just told you about this.
02:11They have the best player in hockey so far
02:14this year on their team.
02:14Kaprizov has been outstanding.
02:17He's a Hart Trophy favorite.
02:18I think Gustafson, good goalie.
02:21They've got that little intangible with the flower
02:23and the NHL playoffs is one of those things
02:25where sometimes the intangible does come to the forefront.
02:29And I like that with his last year,
02:30maybe trying to get him one more shot at the cup.
02:33And I know the Minnesota Wild
02:35have not been great in the playoffs.
02:36You look at their history over the past 10 to 15 years,
02:40they are pretty much a one and out.
02:43But the NHL is a league where teams catch fire.
02:46Florida, a couple years ago before they made the final
02:49and lost to Vegas and then won last year.
02:51They lost every year in the first round.
02:53Sometimes it just clicks.
02:55Maybe Minnesota makes some deals.
02:57Going into the deadline gets even better.
03:00Could be the year where the Wild,
03:01I'll get on board at nine to one,
03:03especially with how well they've played
03:05and how many teams are ahead of them
03:07on that board right now.
