01:22The first Philippine polymer banknote series is smarter, cleaner, and stronger.

01:30Smarter because they have advanced anti-counterfeiting features and a smaller carbon footprint.

01:38Cleaner because viruses and bacteria do not survive on polymer as long as they do on paper.

01:47And stronger because they last longer than their paper counterparts.

01:52It can be obtained from banks and used from December 23,

01:56but it is limited to the Greater Manila area.

01:58Starting in January, it is expected to circulate throughout the country.

02:02But even if there is a change in money, old paper can still be used.

02:06But because it is stronger, polymer banknotes are said to be more practical.

02:10Polymer banknotes can last up to seven and a half years, five times longer.

02:14And that means that we no longer need to replace them as often.
